Assam: Congress workers join BJP in Samaguri, claims MLA Jitu Goswami

Several Congress workers, including members of the Singimari Mandal Congress and a regional panchayat member, joined the BJP in Assam’s Samaguri constituency.

The joining programme was held at the BJP’s main election campaign office in Samaguri in the presence of MLA Jitu Goswami.

Goswami claimed that Shingimari is now “Congress-free” following the joining of the Congress workers.

According to the BJP MLA, several workers who had been associated with the Congress for years joined the BJP after becoming disillusioned with the party.

Goswami also claimed that the Congress now exists only in the media and has no presence among the people.
