A large-scale cycle rally held in Kokrajhar on Sunday drew significant attention as it brought together media professionals and sports figures to promote fitness and environmental responsibility. Titled "Fit India Sunday on Cycle," the event was organised by the Sports Authority of India’s Special Training Centre at Kathalguri.
Over a hundred participants joined the rally, which was held in partnership with the Press Club of India and the Kokrajhar Press Club. The route started at the SAI campus and covered key areas including Titaguri, Bhabanipur, JD Road, and Bodofa Nwgwr, before looping back from the BTC Secretariat complex.
The initiative, part of the nationwide Fit India Movement, aimed to encourage healthier lifestyle choices while underlining the importance of fuel conservation. Organisers emphasised cycling not just as a form of exercise, but as a sustainable mode of transport that can reduce dependency on fossil fuels.
The rally received strong support from the local community, with many appreciating its dual focus on personal health and environmental sustainability.
