A cylinder blast occurred at the Moolagaon State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Bongaigaon, leaving three individuals injured, with one in critical condition. The blast took place on September 18.
The injured individuals have been identified as Ratul Singh, Dipali Singh, and Chitta Ranjan Nath. Ratul Singh, an employee of the local gas agency, was critically injured in the explosion. Dipali Singh and Chitta Ranjan Nath, both employees of the SBI branch, also sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment. All three have been admitted to a nearby hospital, where they are under close medical supervision. Hospital sources have indicated that Ratul Singh's condition is particularly concerning.
In the wake of this incident, the SBI branch has temporarily suspended its operations. An official notice has been issued, stating that banking activities will remain on hold until further notice, ensuring the safety of both employees and customers. Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the blast to determine whether any safety regulations were violated.
