Hazrat Ali Sheikh, a dedicated farmer from Tisterpar village near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Dhubri, has found remarkable success in cultivating round big green apple ber fruit plant on his farmland.
Sheikh planted 400 saplings of green apple ber fruit plant in January 2024, on three bighas of land and meticulously nurtured them. Now, nearly a year later, his hard work is paying off, with his fields overflowing with produce.
Sheikh is currently selling 1 to 5 quintals of green apple ber per day in the market, earning a steady income. He proudly states that the trees he planted will continue to bear fruit for the next two years, ensuring long-term financial benefits.

Additionally, his produce is said to have an exceptional taste, attracting a strong demand from buyers.
In light of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to boost agricultural engagement, Sheikh expressed his commitment to farming and emphasized how more educated youth are now showing interest in agriculture instead of chasing conventional jobs.
He believes this shift is a positive sign for the country’s future. His success story serves as an inspiration to local farmers and young entrepreneurs, highlighting the potential of agriculture as a profitable and sustainable livelihood.
