Assam: Doctor dies after falling from roof at Karimganj Civil Hospital

Administrative officer of Karimganj Civil Hospital, Dr Debabrata Deka died after falling from the roof of the doctor's quarters on January 20.

As per preliminary reports, the doctor fell from the roof of the hospital late last night. The incident left the doctor in critical condition, who was immediately transferred to Silchar Medical College Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries earlier today.

The exact circumstances of the doctor falling from the doctor's quarters remain unclear. It is still unknown why the doctor was on the roof at the time of the accident.

The news of Dr Deka's untimely yet tragic death has deeply saddened the hospital staff and cast a pall of mourning over the entire hospital campus. Authorities are expected to investigate the incident to determine the cause of the fall.
