The Eat Right Mela, organised under the Eat Right India programme, concluded in Kokrajhar after being held in four locations across Assam.
The event was organised by the Food Safety Department, Kokrajhar, under Assam's Commissionerate of Food Safety, in collaboration with the Kokrajhar district administration.
The two-day mela, held at the Kokrajhar Government Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School playground, aimed to raise awareness about the importance of healthy and nutritious food.
The mela also emphasised promoting millets, highlighting their nutritional value and health benefits. As part of the programme, an exhibition featuring organically grown vegetables was organized, with 30 stalls participating in the showcase.
Speaking to the media, Samiran Barua, Officer of Food Safety, Assam, stated that the mela was conducted under the Eat Right India Programme at four locations like Kokrajhar, Guwahati, Lakhimpur and Tensukia in Assam.
Kokrajhar was one of the host locations, with the objective of spreading awareness about healthy eating habits among the general public, especially the younger generation.
