Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu emphasised the need for skill development, entrepreneurship, and career independence while addressing the 57th Central Convention of the All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) at Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma.
Speaking at the Education & Youth Conclave, Pegu highlighted the role of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in promoting self-reliance. "NEP 2020 highlights skill development, entrepreneurship, and career independence. Fostering self-reliance among youth through job creation and entrepreneurial opportunities is crucial for a prosperous future," he said.
He also praised ABSU’s contributions to Assam’s education sector and called for collective efforts to build a progressive Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
The session was inaugurated by BTR Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro and saw participation from several notable figures, including Sudhir Kumar, former Director of CBPO, ISRO, and Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharya, Chief Adviser of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU).
Bhattacharya stressed the importance of student movements in shaping policies and urged the youth to actively contribute to nation-building.
The convention provided a platform for discussions on education, development, and youth empowerment, encouraging collaboration for a stronger Bodoland and Assam.
