Assam: Elderly man beaten by son in Jorhat, video goes viral

An unsettling incident has come to light from Jorhat where an elderly man was brutally beaten by his son. The assault, which took place near the Allahabad Bank in Monaimaj, was captured in disturbing visuals that clearly recorded the father's cries of pain.

Reports indicate that the son also attacked his mother and wife during the incident. The elderly parents sustained serious injuries as a result of the assault. The video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention.

The local village defense party intervened and handed over the accused, Gobin Bora, to the police on Thursday night. The injured elderly father, mother, and the wife have been admitted to Jorhat Medical College & Hospital (JMCH) for treatment.

Residents of the area have expressed concern over a rise in alcohol abuse, which they believe is contributing to an increase in such violent incidents recently.
