Assam: Fire at tailoring shop on Nagaon Jail road claims one life

On May 24, a fire broke out at a tailoring shop on Jail Road in Nagaon, resulting in the death of a woman identified as Amarul Kha. 

The incident occurred earlier today and quickly escalated, engulfing the shop in flames.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire erupted suddenly inside the tailoring shop, trapping the woman who was unable to escape. Despite attempts by locals to douse the flames, the blaze intensified rapidly.

Fire and emergency services responded promptly, with two fire tenders reaching the spot. 

After a sustained effort, firefighters were able to bring the situation under control and extinguish the fire.

Preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit, though officials have not ruled out other possibilities. 

A detailed investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause.
