Allegations of forceful land grabbing have emerged against former NDFB leader G. Bidai, who, along with his associates, has reportedly occupied 51 bighas of land in Oxiguri, Salbari in Assam. The land, owned by local villagers, has allegedly been seized under threats and is now being used for banana cultivation.
According to sources, 11 individuals led by G. Bidai took control of the land nearly two months ago, despite the landowners' refusal to lease the property. Reports indicate that sticks and weapons were used to intimidate the rightful owners, compelling them to vacate the premises.
The affected landowners, including Jyotish Mushahary and eight other villagers from Oxiguri and Lawdanguri, have lodged formal complaints with the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Jalah Revenue Circle Officer, and the local police administration. However, despite these complaints, no action has been taken so far, prompting the victims to seek government intervention through media channels.
