The Assam Health Department organized a Health and Wellness Camp at Titaguri High School on Tuesday, marking a crucial step in improving healthcare access in the region. The camp was inaugurated by Ranjit Basumatary, the BTC Executive Member for Forest, Land, and Revenue Department, as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public health infrastructure.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with hundreds of students and local residents participating and availing themselves of free health check-ups. The initiative focused on promoting health awareness and delivering essential medical services to the community.
Addressing the media, Ranjit Basumatary praised the initiative, emphasizing that it was a commendable step by the State Government in ensuring healthcare accessibility and spreading awareness about preventive health measures.
Kabita Deka, ADC of Kokrajhar, highlighted that the camp is part of the State Government’s broader initiative to set up 136 such Health and Wellness Camps across the district. She noted that this project aims to benefit a significant portion of the population by bringing essential healthcare services closer to the people.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several key officials, including Sonaton Iswary (District Program Officer), Suraj Basumatary (Secretary of UPPL, Kokrajhar District), and former Joint Director of Health, Kokrajhar.
