In a significant stride toward improving pediatric healthcare, the Government of Assam, in collaboration with Narayana Health, organized a landmark screening camp for Congenital Heart Disease and Bone Marrow Transplant at Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital.
This pioneering initiative marks the first of its kind in the Kokrajhar district, focusing on early detection and treatment of life-threatening conditions in children, including severe heart diseases, leukemia, thalassemia, and other rare blood disorders.
The camp, which saw participation from over 100 young patients hailing from the lower Assam districts of Bongaigaon, Chirang, Kokrajhar, and Dhubri, was led by a team of five specialists from Narayana Health, Kolkata. Dr. Pranoy Dey, Head of the Department of Pediatrics at Kokrajhar Medical College & Hospital, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in addressing critical health issues in children at an early stage. The success of this camp sets a promising precedent for future healthcare initiatives in the region.
