Abhishek Jain, a dedicated IAS officer from the 2020 batch, is making waves in Bijni, Assam, with a creative endeavor that blends aesthetics, culture, and governance. As the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) in Bijni, he has embarked on a project to revamp the SDO (C) office's boundary wall, collaborating with various government departments and students from Bijni College.
The project has breathed new life into the office's surroundings, adorning the boundary wall with a vibrant tapestry that proudly showcases Assam's rich cultural heritage. Beyond its artistic appeal, the wall serves as an informative canvas, presenting essential initiatives from both the Central and State governments.
Sharing his enthusiasm Abhishek Jain stated, "Bijni subdivisional administration took a small initiative of beautification of the boundary wall of our SDO (C) office, Bijni. Here is a small glimpse of what has come out of the initiative."
Originally from Delhi, he completed his schooling there and obtained a B.Com degree from Delhi University. Following his graduation, he embarked on his mission to prepare for the UPSC examination with a clear goal in mind: to make a positive impact through public service.
Coming from a family with a background in civil service, Abhishek had deep-rooted inspiration. His grandfather had served alongside an IAS officer, and his maternal uncle had also chosen the path of civil service. Growing up in this environment instilled in Abhishek a passion for government roles and a resolve to become an IAS officer.
Abhishek Jain's journey to becoming an IAS officer was marked by impressive achievements at a young age. He made two attempts at the UPSC examination before turning 24 and secured top ranks in both attempts. In his initial attempt, he achieved the 111th All India rank but was allocated the IRS cadre, which didn't align with his aspiration for the IAS. Undeterred, he undertook the UPSC examination again in 2019, where his relentless efforts secured him the 24th rank and a coveted place in the IAS.
Sharing his insights on clearing the challenging UPSC examination, Abhishek Jain emphasized the importance of self-study. He regarded self-study as the most effective approach for excelling in the UPSC examination and emphasized the value of extensive answer writing practice, thorough revision, and rigorous problem-solving through mock tests. According to him, a well-defined strategy and a disciplined study routine are key to conquering the UPSC examination.
Abhishek Jain's inspiring journey from Delhi to Assam, coupled with his dedication to community development, continues to make a positive impact on the region, exemplifying the spirit of public service at its finest.
