Assam Cabinet Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah on November 9 raised strong objections to AIDUF MP Badruddin Ajmal, accentuating perceived differences between the Miya community led by Ajmal and the local Assamese populace.
The Minister voiced his concerns about the leadership of AIDUF MP Badruddin Ajmal.Baruah stated the importance of regional organizations like Assam Sahitya Sabha and Shankar Sangha, describing them as vital to the local community. He suggested that if leaders like Ajmal are not invited by such organizations, it would be considered a gesture of goodwill.
"Those residing in India must respect Sanatan culture. Neglecting our culture could be seen as anti-national behavior," Baruah said.
He further clarified that Indian culture equates to Sanatan culture, and any comments that may hurt the sentiments of Sanatan culture would be subject to legal consequences, regardless of the individual's identity.
