The Kamatapur State Demand Council (KSDC) has intensified its demand for an early peace accord with the Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO), urging the central government to act promptly. During a press briefing held at Chilarai Bhavan in Narabari, KSDC Chief Convenor Lakhindra Ray stressed the importance of addressing the long-standing issue to meet the aspirations of the Koch Rajbongshi community.
To amplify their demand, the KSDC announced a large-scale public rally scheduled for December 9 at the Rajmela Ground in Cooch Behar, West Bengal. The event is expected to attract participation from 1.5 to 2 lakh individuals from Assam, Bihar, and West Bengal, aiming to pressure the government to expedite the peace accord process.
Ray highlighted that the rally is part of a broader movement to ensure the early implementation of the KLO peace agreement, which is seen as a crucial step toward lasting peace and development in the region.
