In a video message, Kamtapur Liberation Organization (KLO) Chief Jeevan Singh has launched a scathing critique against the Mamata Banerjee-led government in West Bengal. Singh's condemnation comes amidst allegations of arrests and mistreatment of KLO members by state authorities.
Underlining the historical context, Singh referenced the Merger Agreement, which recognized Cooch Behar as a Category C State. Despite this recognition, Singh lamented the current state of affairs in Kamtapur, accusing the government of exploitation, humiliation and deprivation of its people.
Singh labelled Mamata Banerjee as an outsider to the Kamtapuri cause. He vowed to continue the fight for the restoration of Kamtapur state stating the need for unity among the diverse communities residing in the region.
The recent tensions escalated following the alleged arrests of KLO members, including Tapas Rai and KLO Secretary-General Kailash Koch, by state authorities. Singh criticized the government's oppressive tactics, likening them to colonial rule and calling for resistance against such measures.
Particularly incensed was Singh's reaction to the government's obstruction of the Chilarai divas celebration, a significant event for the Kamtapuri community. He urged the people of Kamtapur to stand in solidarity and join the struggle for KLO's national liberation.
