The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) successfully concluded a two-day District-Level Training Program on the Incident Response System (IRS) at the Bodoland Administrative Staff College, Kokrajhar. The initiative aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness and interdepartmental coordination in the district.
The program culminated with a Field Simulation Drill (Mock Exercise) at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, where participants gained hands-on experience in managing disaster scenarios. A comprehensive Tabletop Exercise (TTEx) was also conducted, focusing on disaster management protocols, particularly for earthquake situations. Facilitators guided participants through key procedures and strategies to minimize stress and ensure effective emergency responses.
Dr. Kripal Jyoti Mazumder, Program Officer (Disaster Management) from ASDMA, Guwahati, served as the key resource person for the event. He emphasized the program's role in fostering coordination among various departments and enhancing disaster resilience.
Additional Deputy Commissioners Kabita Deka and Jituraj Gogoi, along with officials from departments such as Land Revenue & Disaster Management (LR & DM), Health & Family Welfare (H & FW), Fire & Emergency Services (F & ESS), CISF, and APRO, actively participated in the training sessions.
