Assam: Kokrajhar Literary Festival begins with participation from 184 writers and poets

The fourth Kokrajhar Literary Festival commenced at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, located on the banks of the Gaurang River in Kokrajhar, Assam on February 1.
The three-day event gathered 184 poets and writers, including 7 participants from abroad, 67 from outside Assam and 110 from North East.
Additionally literary figures from Denmark, Estonia, Sri Lanka, South Korea, and Japan are also participating in the festival.
The festival was inaugurated with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp by the Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer who attended the event as the chief guest.
Prominent personalities present at the inauguration included BTR Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, Professor Kumud Sharma (Vice President of Sahitya Akademi), veteran journalist Mrinal Talukdar, Assam Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma, ABSU President Dipen Boro and Bodo Sahitya Sabha President Surath Narzary among others.
As part of the festival, interactive sessions have been organised where participating poets and writers will share their literary experiences. Each evening, the event will feature a special session titled "An Evening of Poetry in the Warmth of Fire". Additionally, the prestigious Gaurang River Literary Award will be presented during the festival.
