In a shocking development that has been reported from Goalpara, the locals raised concern over the doctor-in-charge of their area whose actions turned out similar to that of a Don.
Even after forty days of the transfer order, the doctor, identified as Nandan Kumar Nath, did not vacate his quarter. Moreover, there is no account for the Rs 75 lakh that comes in the name of repairing the hospital.
About one lakh people are dependent on the hospital and there is no doctor-in-charge at this moment which has led to the hue and cry among the local residents.
The incident has taken place at the Krishnai Small Primary Centre in Goalpara district. The locals have appealed to the Health Minister to look into the matter and come up with a solution.
There has been a magisterial-level inquiry against Nandan Kumar Nath in the past but till now no action has been taken against him.
Nandan Kumar Nath has been accused of not assigning the responsibility to the newly transferred doctor due to about Rs 75 lakh allotted to the hospital for infrastructure.
The people of Krishnai are shocked and angry at the fact that even the DC of Goalpara or the district joint director of health services has not taken matters into their hands.
