Assam man applies for 120 government jobs in two years, enters record books

Proving the adage that persistence eventually pays off, a young man from Assam's Sivasagar district has earned a place in multiple record books after applying for as many as 120 government jobs over two years.
Deepjyoti Kakoti, a resident of Kalugaon Khemdoi Kakoti Gaon, began preparing for government jobs in 2017. Between 2019 and 2021, he applied for 120 different posts under both the state and Central governments.
His efforts yielded results, with Kakoti clearing several written examinations and receiving two to three government appointment letters during the period.
His remarkable effort has now earned him recognition in the Assam Book of Records and the National Book of Records. He has also received the IBR Achievers honour from the India Book of Records.
Kakoti is currently working as a Grade III employee at Sivasagar Girls' College.
His journey of repeatedly applying for government jobs and appearing for competitive examinations has emerged as an example of perseverance for other job aspirants, highlighting the importance of patience and sustained effort in the pursuit of employment.
