In a major breakthrough against interstate drug trafficking, the Badarpur Railway Police have seized suspected heroin valued at approximately Rs 5 crore during a late-night search operation at Badarpur Railway Station. Four individuals from Malda district of West Bengal have been apprehended in connection with the case.
According to official reports, the accused were preparing to board a Secunderabad-bound train when the police conducted a surprise inspection. During the search, officers recovered four packets containing about 2 kg and 1.62 grams of suspected heroin from their luggage.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ujjal Mondal, Amal Mondal, Madan Mondal, and Asit Mondal, all hailing from Narayanpur in Malda district, West Bengal. Preliminary investigations suggest that the contraband was sourced locally and was being transported to West Bengal for further distribution.
