Assam: Massive fire breaks out at plywood factory in Margherita, goods worth lakhs destroyed

A major fire broke out at Natural Panel Industries Pvt. Ltd., a plywood manufacturing unit located in Margherita, Assam causing significant damage to property.

The blaze reportedly spread rapidly, engulfing the entire facility within minutes. Owned by businessman Sanjeev Kumar Choubey, the factory suffered extensive damage before emergency services arrived at the scene.

Three fire tenders were immediately deployed to control the inferno. While the fire has been brought under control, officials confirmed that it has not been fully extinguished as of the latest reports.

Initial estimates suggest that assets worth several lakhs of rupees may have been destroyed. However, a large stockpile of plywood stored in the premises was miraculously spared from the flames.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
