Assam: Massive fire erupts at coal mine in Margherita’s Ledo, triggers panic

A massive fire broke out at the Dweep Mine in Ledo, Margherita, on Monday, February 3 engulfing a large section of a hill reportedly linked to illegal coal mining activities.

The blaze, which has rapidly spread across the area, has sparked fear and concern among local residents. 

While the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined, preliminary reports indicate that it may have originated from an illegally excavated coal pit. The flames have swiftly consumed nearby vegetation, intensifying the situation.
