Assam Cabinet Minister and Kaliabor MLA Keshab Mahanta on Sunday, March 15, laid the foundation stone for the inter-village development project at Zubeen Greens in Kuwaritol, Kaliabor. The initiative is aimed at creating a vibrant cultural and community space in the area, where arts, sports, and other developmental activities will be promoted, particularly for the younger generation.
Minister Mahanta highlighted that the project will serve as an important hub for learning, inspiration, and social interaction, while also keeping alive the memory and contributions of the popular local artist Zubeen Garg, ensuring that his legacy continues to motivate and inspire future generations.
This foundation stone ceremony is part of a larger series of development initiatives undertaken by Minister Mahanta across the Kaliabor constituency. In the run-up to the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, he has been actively laying the groundwork for multiple infrastructure and community projects, demonstrating a focus on both cultural and civic development in the region.
The Zubeen Greens project is expected to strengthen community engagement, provide youth with spaces for sports and cultural activities, and contribute to the overall socio-cultural growth of the locality. Local residents and officials present at the event expressed optimism that the project will become a landmark centre for communal learning and cultural preservation in Kaliabor.
