Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi on September 3 appreciated Assam Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika for announcing that the work of the Rs 270-crore mega erosion prevention project proposed by the World Bank and ADB will be implemented in the second phase.
The development comes after Hazarika took stock of the flood situation in the district on September 3 at the request of Gogoi.
Expressing his happiness over the same, the MLA said that Hazarika is a very efficient minister and thanked the minister for announcing Rs 20 crore for the empowerment of both the Mathauri of Dikhau and Disang and Rs 6 crore for the other areas of the Brahmaputra.
The Sivasagar MLA also thanked Hazarika for announcing that the work of the Rs 270-crore mega erosion prevention project proposed by the World Bank and ADB will implemented in the second phase.
''Pijush Hazarika, who works on a field basis, is a very efficient minister. He can raise the issues very properly in the Assembly and understand the problems of the people properly,'' Gogoi said while speaking to reporters.
Since the Minister has visited the flood situation in Sivasagar himself, the MLA hoped that the problem of flood and erosion in the Brahmaputra, Dikhou, Disang, and Darika rivers in Sivasagar district will definitely be resolved with the promptness of the divisional minister.
