Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Kokrajhar on March 13, where he will lay the foundation stones of several upcoming development projects.
In view of the visit, Assam Cabinet Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah on Sunday, March 1, reviewed the preparations at the Green Field ground in Kokrajhar. Baruah stated that an estimated 1 to 2 lakh people are expected to attend the programme, and arrangements are being made accordingly to accommodate the large gathering.
On the same day, Assam Director General of Police Harmeet Singh, Minister and BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary were present at the Kokrajhar Green Field to take stock of the preparations.
The officials inspected security measures, seating arrangements, stage construction and other logistical aspects to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the Prime Minister’s programme. Authorities are strengthening security and crowd management plans across the district ahead of the high-profile visit.
