Minister UG Brahma asserts UPPL-BJP coalition's confidence in Bodoland elections
Minister UG Brahma, while attending a free health camp at Banhbari in Baksa, asserted that the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) is prepared to contest the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections, even without an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
He expressed confidence that the UPPL-BJP coalition would retain power in the BTC, emphasizing that the party is performing well independently.
Addressing reporters, Minister Brahma dismissed the influence of the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) and its chief, Hagrama Mohilary. "Hagrama Mohilary herself is left alone.
Who will play with her in the elections?" Brahma remarked, taking a dig at the former BTC chief. He further pointed out that Mohilary had aligned with Nav Sharania, a leader who previously opposed him.
Brahma reiterated that there is no alternative to Mohilary at present, forcing her to contest elections alone. He confidently stated that a joint government led by UPPL and BJP is "pakka" (certain) in the BTC.
Minister Brahma was accompanied at the event by BTC councillors Jai Musahari, Mantu Boro, and Shalbari TCLCC chairman Vinod Musahari, among others.
