A 13-year-old boy tragically lost his life due to electrocution on Saturday, August 31 in Karimganj, Assam.
The victim, identified as Abu Taher Chowdhury, was electrocuted while playing when he accidentally came into contact with a live electric pole.
According to residents, this devastating incident could have been prevented. Locals claim that the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) had been repeatedly informed about electricity leakage from poles in the area for a significant period.
Despite these warnings, the electricity department allegedly failed to take any corrective action, ultimately leading to this tragic loss of life.
