Hundreds of residents and members of the artist fraternity gathered at Borongabari in Morigaon for a candlelight prayer meet while seeking justice for late music icon Zubeen Garg. The event, led by local women through devotional songs and chants, witnessed an outpouring of emotion as people paid floral and candle tributes to the late singer’s portrait.
During the ceremony, participants prayed for divine justice, urging that those responsible for Zubeen’s death face the punishment they deserve. Some also expressed strong emotions, saying that the culprits should never find peace for their alleged role in the tragedy.
The crowd united in song, performing one of Zubeen’s most loved tracks, “Mayabini Ratir Bukut”, transforming the evening into both a tribute and a collective cry for justice.
Speaking at the gathering, members of the artist community said that prayers for justice are being held across Assam every day. They voiced confidence that divine justice will prevail, as the people’s faith in the truth remains unshaken.
