A youth from Assam's Gossaigaon subdivision was arrested late last night for allegedly posting pro-Pakistan content on Facebook, triggering concerns over anti-national activity on social media platforms.
The accused has been identified as Rupchan Ali, a resident of Kursakati village under the jurisdiction of Bhaoraguri Police Outpost.
According to police sources, Rupchan made multiple posts expressing support for Pakistan, which drew the attention of local authorities.
Following the viral circulation of his controversial content, Bhaoraguri police detained him and later handed him over to Gossaigaon Police. He was formally arrested, and an investigation is currently underway.
Police sources stated that he was apprehended on charges of being involved in activities deemed anti-national. Authorities are also examining his social media accounts and potential connections to any external groups.
