A complaint has been filed at Krishnai Police Station in Assam's Goalpara district following allegations that a group of students consumed beef inside a classroom and attempted to pressure two Hindu students to consume it at a higher secondary school.
According to the complaint, the incident took place at Habraghat Higher Secondary School in Krishnai. The complainants alleged that five students from the Muslim community brought beef to the school and consumed it inside a classroom.
The complaint further alleged that the students attempted to compel two Hindu classmates to consume the meat and subjected them to mental pressure when they refused.
According to the families of the students, the matter came to light after the two students informed their parents about the incident upon returning home from school. The families subsequently approached Krishnai Police Station and lodged a formal complaint seeking legal action.
The incident has sparked concern in the locality, with residents demanding a thorough investigation into the allegations.
Meanwhile, allegations have also been levelled against the school administration, with the complainants claiming that the authorities failed to take appropriate action and attempted to keep the matter from becoming public.
Confirming the development, Officer-in-Charge of Krishnai Police Station Anand Rabha said that the parents of the affected students had filed a complaint at the police station in connection with the incident.
