Assam Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika on January 28 expressed his confidence in the growing influence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam and India at large. Hazarika credited the surge in BJP's popularity to the effective governance of both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
"People are attracted to the good governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the good governance of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma," stated Minister Hazarika. He highlighted that the absence of viable alternatives has led to leaders and workers from various political backgrounds gravitating towards the BJP.
Hazarika stated, "Inspired by such ideologies, leaders of different parties are also attracted to the BJP. That is why there is an influx of leaders and workers of other parties towards the BJP at present." The Minister confidently predicted that Narendra Modi would secure a third term as Prime Minister, and the BJP would triumph with 12 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Assam.
The minister welcomed new members into the BJP, acknowledging the contributions of political and non-political leaders joining the party. The political landscape in Assam, according to Hazarika is witnessing a notable shift due to the confidence and appeal the BJP commands.
Minister Hazarika also took a moment to pay tribute to the historic sacrifices made by 140 great peasant martyrs in the "Patharughatar Ran " on this day in 1894. He remembered their unparalleled self-sacrifice, patriotism and courage stating that it continues to inspire the commitment to serving the nation.
