A video allegedly showing an Assam Police 112 emergency response vehicle being driven recklessly on the road to Haflong in Assam’s Dima Hasao district has raised concerns over road safety and the conduct of emergency service personnel.
According to information shared by a concerned citizen, the incident took place around 1.15 pm on October 18, 2026, near Jatinga, when a police Bolero vehicle was travelling towards Haflong.
The incident was reportedly recorded by a motorcycle rider. The footage allegedly shows the vehicle being driven in a manner that could have endangered other road users. An auto-rickshaw carrying passengers narrowly escaped a potential collision, according to the complaint.
The video has been shared with a news channel, with the citizen urging the authorities to examine the footage and take appropriate action if any traffic violations are established.
The incident has drawn attention to the need for responsible driving by emergency response personnel, whose vehicles operate on public roads and must ensure the safety of other commuters.
The authorities have been urged to investigate the incident and determine whether the driver violated traffic rules. Any further action would depend on the findings of the inquiry.
