Assam police intercept crude oil smuggling operation in Chirang district

In Chirang district, the ongoing issue of crude oil smuggling has once again come to the forefront, with a recent interception by law enforcement shedding light on the persistent illegal activity.

A police team from Dhaligaon Out Post swiftly responded to reports and arrived at Chhatipur village under Kajalgaon police station. Upon arrival, they seized a tanker car along with multiple oil-laden drums and oil-filled buckets, indicating a significant operation in progress.

The seized tanker, identified by its registration number AS26C-4707, has been secured at the Kajalgaon police station as part of the ongoing investigation. However, the perpetrators, including the driver, helper, and others involved in the smuggling operation, managed to evade capture, fleeing the scene before the authorities' arrival.
