Assam Police team attacked in Bongaigaon district while trying to resolve village dispute

Four policemen, including a home guard jawan, were injured and a police vehicle was damaged when a team was attacked while trying to resolve a dispute in Darkinamari village of Srijangram, Bongaigaon district.

The incident occurred during an attempt to settle a conflict between two groups over road construction in the village. A section of people turned violent and attacked the police team.

Senior police officers and additional forces rushed to the scene and managed to bring the situation under control. The injured personnel were sent to the hospital for treatment.

In connection with the attack, police have detained two suspects: Buddheshwar Arya and Gundhar Arya.

The incident comes in the wake of a recent similar attack on police in Nalbari district, highlighting growing concerns about assaults on law enforcement in the state.
