Assam: Public anger erupts as Barchala MLA inaugurates unpaved road instead of promised paved stretch

Bad days appear to be mounting for Barchala MLA Ganesh Limbu as public anger against the BJP legislator erupted yet again, this time over an unfulfilled promise of a paved road.

Residents of Barchala confronted Limbu when he arrived to inaugurate what was supposed to be a long-awaited pucca (paved) road. Instead, locals found that only a kutcha (unpaved) stretch had been prepared, triggering sharp protests and pointed questions from the gathered crowd.

Eyewitnesses said the situation turned tense as villagers accused the MLA of failing to deliver on his assurance of a permanent, all-weather road. Several residents openly questioned why public representatives continue to make promises that are not fulfilled on the ground.

Locals reportedly demanded clarity on project timelines, fund allocation and why the promised pucca road was not completed before the inauguration was scheduled.
