In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Assam Education Department continues to intensify its focus on strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy skills across schools in the state. As part of this initiative, competitive programs are being conducted among teachers to encourage more innovative and effective classroom teaching practices.
On Thursday, November 27, a literacy and numeracy competition was successfully organized among 40 schools under the Bokakhat area of the Golaghat West Education Block. The activity aimed at enhancing teaching methodologies that make learning more engaging and impactful for students.
Three teams selected at the block level will now represent the region in the upcoming district-level competition. Successful performers at the district stage will advance to the state and subsequently to the national level, ensuring wide recognition of effective literacy and numeracy practices in foundational education.
Officials highlighted that such competitions not only boost professional development among teachers but also ultimately help achieve NEP’s critical mission of improving foundational learning outcomes among children across Assam.
