On the auspicious occasion of Mahashasthi, when Durga Puja pandals resonate with the rhythmic beats of dhak, the Ramakrishna Sevashram Samity brought festive cheer to the underprivileged in Margherita by organizing a clothing distribution programme.
As devotees prepared for the installation of Maa Durga on the altar, the Samity extended its humanitarian service by providing new clothes to nearly a hundred needy individuals, particularly children between the ages of 1 and 12 years.
The initiative, which aimed to ensure that no child or family is left without festive attire during the celebrations, was met with heartfelt gratitude from the beneficiaries. Many expressed that such support was a blessing, as financial hardships prevent them from affording new clothes during Puja.
Speaking with emotion, the recipients shared that the new clothes not only brightened their festival but also gave them a sense of inclusion in the community celebrations. They further expressed hope that such welfare programmes would continue in the years to come, making Durga Puja a truly joyous occasion for all.
