Assam BJP President Bhavesh Kalita made strong remarks against rapists and their alleged aides, calling for strict actions during an event in Pathshala today (August 26).
Addressing the issue of rising rape cases, Kalita suggested that rapists should be left to a tiger in the zoo as punishment. His comments came during the opening ceremony of the Kanak Choudhury Sovarni Football Tournament held at Chaukhuti.
Kalita emphasized that the recent surge in rape cases in Assam is not coincidental but rather the result of intentional and well-organized crimes. He claimed that influential individuals are backing these heinous acts, providing a shield for perpetrators who commit these crimes without fear.
"There are influential people behind these acts, which is why the perpetrators commit these crimes without any fear," Kalita stated, warning those he described as sponsors to back off and stop committing crimes against women.
The BJP leader further alleged that the killings and rapes occurring in Assam are orchestrated by specific sponsors, indicating that these acts are part of a broader plan. Kalita cautioned these so-called patrons to be careful, hinting at serious consequences if such activities continue.
Despite his strong words against crime, Kalita acknowledged that the police are currently performing their duties to maintain law and order. His remarks have drawn significant attention, highlighting concerns over the safety of women and the alleged involvement of powerful figures in criminal activities.
