Sand-filled dumper fell into a pit in Assam's Parvatjhora region
A devastating road accident struck the Parvatjhora region, leaving chaos and injury in its wake.
The incident unfolded as a weak wooden bridge on the road connecting Gauripur and Kazigaon gave way under the weight of a sand-filled dumper, plunging the vehicle into a deep pit below.
The dumper, bearing the registration number AS-05-C-7336, was carrying a load of sand when the dilapidated bridge collapsed beneath its weight at Madati, near the Kazigaon police station.
The force of the impact left the driver of the dumper seriously injured, necessitating immediate medical attention. The injured driver has been rushed to Gauripur hospital for treatment.
Local residents were deeply affected by the collapse of the bridge, which served as a vital link in their daily commute.
With the bridge out of commission, navigating the area has become perilous, particularly for schoolchildren and other pedestrians who must now traverse the treacherous mercury-filled waters of the ditch.
