Assam: Sarthebari artisans create 10 kg brass masterpiece, win widespread acclaim

A team of skilled brass artisans in Sarthebari, Barpeta, has crafted an impressive 10 kg brass vessel, earning admiration from across the region and highlighting the town’s rich heritage in brass craftsmanship.
The vessel, created by artisans Dipak Deka, Manoj Deka, Chandan Deka, Arup Bhuyan, and Dhiraj Bhuyan, was produced at Dipak Deka’s workshop in Yamthechupa. Most families in Sarthebari have been engaged in brassware for generations, preserving and promoting this traditional art form.
The intricately designed vessel took five days of meticulous work, combining traditional techniques with contemporary design sensibilities. Local residents and craft enthusiasts have lauded the masterpiece, calling it a testament to the skill, dedication, and legacy of Sarthebari’s brass artisans.
