Assam school headmaster accused of selling government bicycles in Baghbar

The headmaster of a government school in Assam's Baghbar has been accused of selling bicycles supplied by the government, with local residents demanding an investigation into the alleged irregularities.

The allegations concern Tazuddin High School in Baghbar, where four government-issued bicycles were allegedly being taken out of the school premises for sale when local residents noticed the incident.

The residents intercepted the bicycles and handed them over to Baghbar police after informing the authorities.

They have accused school headmaster Abdul Mannaaf Ahmed of being involved in the alleged sale. They also claimed that eight bicycles had been sold from the school a few days earlier.

The headmaster has also faced allegations of providing fake certificates in exchange for money and selling government-supplied rice. These allegations are yet to be established.

Police have detained the headmaster's driver for questioning in connection with the incident. The driver allegedly fled the spot in an e-rickshaw before being detained, according to local residents.

Local residents have sought a probe into how government-supplied materials from the school could allegedly be taken out and sold.
