Assam: Schoolgirl ends life after HS results outcome, district in shock

A student of Bajali Higher Secondary School, died by suicide at her residence soon after the declaration of the Higher Secondary examination results today, April 30.

The student had successfully cleared the exam, securing a third division. However, according to sources close to the family, she was reportedly devastated after learning that her close friend had topped the results, leading to severe emotional distress.

The tragic event unfolded at her home, sending shockwaves across the Bajali district. Her body has been shifted to the Pathsala Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Meanwhile, the local police from Pathsala arrived at the scene and have begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

The entire Bajali region is reeling under grief, with a somber atmosphere prevailing in the community following the young student’s untimely demise.
