A scooter rider was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident at Sholmari on the Telahi-Dalbari road in Assam's Morigaon district on August 2.
According to reports, a four-wheeler rammed into the scooter before fleeing the scene. The injured rider, identified as Haren Deka, a resident of Sholmari, sustained serious injuries in the collision.
He was initially rushed to Morigaon Civil Hospital in a 108 ambulance. However, after assessing his condition, doctors referred him to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advanced treatment as his condition remained critical.
Eyewitnesses alleged that the driver of the four-wheeler fled through Gorom Bazar immediately after the accident. Police have launched an investigation and are attempting to trace the vehicle involved.
