Assam SIT ready to submit report against MP Gaurav Gogoi: Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah

Assam Cabinet Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah on Saturday, December 13 stated that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Assam government has completed its probe and is prepared to submit its report concerning Congress Member of Parliament Gaurav Gogoi, amid allegations of his alleged links with Pakistan.
Addressing the media at Gossaigaon, Barua said that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been kept informed of the progress of the investigation and has conveyed that the SIT has concluded its inquiry. The minister further claimed that the matter is widely known among the people of Assam, reiterating allegations regarding Gogoi’s purported connections.
Barua made the remarks on the sidelines of a programme held for the distribution of benefits under the Mukhyamantri Mohila Udhyamita Scheme in Gossaigaon. The scheme is aimed at encouraging women entrepreneurship and enhancing self-employment opportunities across the state.
During the event, the Assam government distributed 10,000 cheques to 14,018 beneficiaries from the No. 1 Gossaigaon Legislative Assembly Constituency. The financial assistance is part of the state’s broader initiative to strengthen livelihood opportunities for women.
The programme was attended by Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Executive Member Hagrama Mohilary, the local MLA, BTC Executive Members, and senior government officials.
