A robbery was reported at Nagaon Bangali Primary School located on R.K. Road in Assam’s Nagaon town, where unidentified miscreants allegedly broke into the institution and decamped with several valuables during Wednesday, April 29 night.
According to sources, the thieves allegedly broke the locks of the school rooms before stealing kitchen utensils, brass articles and other valuables kept inside the school premises.
Residents of the area also suspected that the miscreants consumed liquor inside the school campus after scattered drinking glasses were reportedly found inside one of the classrooms following the incident.
The burglary came to light on Thursday morning when teachers arrived at the school and noticed signs of forced entry and missing items.
Following the discovery, the matter was reported to the Itachali Police Outpost. Police are expected to initiate an investigation into the incident.
