With the Panchayat elections approaching rapidly in Assam, political fervor is intensifying across the state. In Bajali district, the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has ramped up its outreach, particularly in support of its candidate, Punam Ramsiary, contesting for the Ward No. 5 seat of the North Bajali Zilla Parishad.
Ramsiary led a high-energy election campaign through various localities including Pub Chariyali and Pub Reehabari under the Manikpur Gaon Panchayat, and parts of Bandhsidhani GP, engaging directly with residents and appealing for votes.
Dipen Ramsiary, President of the Baksa District Trinamool Congress Committee and election observer for Bajali, joined the campaign and addressed gatherings, voicing strong optimism about a Trinamool victory. He cited significant grassroots support and urged voters to back the party’s “Jora Phool” (twin flowers) symbol, claiming that Punam Ramsiary’s win was all but assured.
Echoing the sentiment, candidate Punam Ramsiary expressed firm confidence in the outcome, asserting that her win would bring targeted developmental focus to the region. She pledged to work especially for the welfare of the Bodo and Muslim communities, while also addressing the needs of underdeveloped areas inhabited by Assamese-speaking populations.
The campaign trail saw participation from several senior party leaders, including Prabin Boro, the regional council candidate from Bandhsidhani Gaon Panchayat, further consolidating the party’s ground presence.
