A shocking job scam has come to light in Margherita, where two brothers allegedly deceived four youths with promises of employment abroad, swindling lakhs of rupees in the process.
The accused, Akash Debnath and Ankit Debnath, residents of Margherita Chariali, lured the victims under the pretext of providing jobs at Royal Health India (RHI), a company based in Jamshedpur.
According to the victims, Mukta Ahmed Chowdhury of Margherita Namdang Bashbari was initially approached and charged Rs 25,000 for the company and an additional Rs 2,000 as registration fees.
After a month of training, Mukta was allegedly told that he could secure the job only if he recruited two more youths, Jeet Debnath and Raj Debnath, who were then also deceived into paying substantial sums. Another victim, Bikash Kumar Shah from Digboi, was similarly duped by the brothers.

The four youths claimed they were not allowed to contact their families and were effectively held captive. However, they managed to escape and returned home safely. On Tuesday, they filed a formal complaint with the Margherita police against Akash and Ankit Debnath.
Authorities have noted that such scams targeting unemployed youths with promises of overseas jobs are increasingly common. Officials said that interrogation of the accused may reveal a larger network behind these fraudulent operations.
