Assam: Two dead, several injured in fatal road accident on NH-15, probe underway

A fatal road accident on National Highway 15 early in the morning of March 24 claimed the lives of two passengers traveling on an Ultra bus (registration number AS 20 2289). 

According to preliminary reports, the bus was en route from Tezpur to Guwahati when the accident occurred. Upon receiving the information, Dhula police reached the scene, seized the vehicle, and transported the bodies to Mangaldai Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. The identities of the deceased are yet to be determined.

Eyewitness accounts and initial observations suggest that the impact of the crash was severe, with bodies found hanging inside the wreckage of the bus. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Meanwhile, Dhula police have restricted media access to the police station premises, preventing journalists from gathering further information. Senior police officials have also arrived at the station to assess the situation.
