Assam: Wild boar fatally attacks man in Sribhumi’s Kaliganj, injured shifted to SMCH

Panic gripped the Fatehpur area of Kaliganj in Sribhumi district after a wild boar went on a rampage, leaving one person critically injured.

The injured has been identified as Taj Uddin (46), who was attacked by the boar while on his way home. He sustained severe injuries in the incident. 

Initially rushed to the Kaliganj Primary Health Centre, Taj Uddin was later referred to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital as his condition deteriorated.

Forest department officials, alerted about the situation, quickly reached the spot along with Kaliganj police and managed to capture the wild boar.

The incident has created widespread panic and unrest in the area, with locals expressing concern over increasing instances of man-animal conflict in the region.
